Never Stop Travelling

Earth, water, fire, ether and soil are the raw materials that sustain life on this planet. How do we humans use them, is a significant question. Human population has increased to such a level that we are unable to balance our consumption. This imbalance is now posing various threats like hurricanes, rise in sea level, earthquakes, wild fires, draughts etc. Can we solve this?Yes, if we could explore the space, why can’t we find answers to problems at “home”?! Tourism is the second largest industry in the world and  believe that if this industry decided to change a few things, there will be significant results that benefit all of us.

That’s a “Bukhari”, a room-heater cum water boiler. This metal stove consumes carpentry waste to feed fire…

Old tins used as decor at the balcony in a home-stay…

Let us begin from the basics. There are several entrepreneurs, vacation rental owners, in tourism industry who take precautions to ensure that their operations cause minimal [negative] impact on the Planet. They themselves practise sustainability and encourage their visitors to adapt. Farm stays, camp sites, tree houses, tented stays, home-stays etc. are a few categories.

Look at the construction, it has caused least disturbance for the topography of the land…

Does travel harm the nature? Of course it does. But will humans stop travelling? Don’t we all have the “nomad’s genes”? So, it is better to balance than to stop travelling. Why don’t we turn our vacations to opportunities for giving back to the Planet? We begin with the basics. Choose only environmentally friendly rentals for your stay. Promote hosts who manage our resources in the most environmentally friendly ways…
